Check Out D.C.’s Massive Green Fest This Weekend

This weekend marks the tenth iteration of what is arguably the best exposition and celebration of green living on the East Coast: the Green Fest in Washington, DC. Put on by Green America (formerly Co-op America), tens of thousands of people will gather in DC’s convention center to hear inspiring speeches, attend informative panels, eat tasty guilt-free snacks, and browse hundreds of vendors.

I look forward to the Green Fest, to catch up with friends doing great environmental stuff across the country, see the latest green products, and get re-inspired. The festival brings together a diversity of ideas, so it’s always heartening to see such creativity and passion for going green. Over the years I’ve also picked up some cool eco t-shirts, water bottles, and other fun gear.

Speakers include Amy Goodman of Democracy Now, Medea Benjamin of Codepink and Global Exchange, plus locals like Allison Basile of Hub DC, and many more.
